Israel’s military said a Hezbollah drone had killed four soldiers at a base in Binyamina on Sunday, resulting in more than 60 wounded. The attack is the deadliest since September 23, when Israel increased its attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon. In response, Israel expanded its bombardments of Lebanon. Meanwhile, an Israeli strike on a school shelter in Gaza killed 15 people, and fighting between Israel and Hezbollah forces continued. The UN peacekeepers accused Israeli troops of breaking through their positions in south Lebanon.
Hezbollah warned Israel of further attacks, stating that what was witnessed in Haifa was just the beginning. Israel’s recent strikes targeted areas beyond Hezbollah’s traditional strongholds, while on the ground, soldiers eliminated dozens of fighters. Lebanon reported escalating attacks by Israeli forces, resulting in several deaths and injuries. Hezbollah continued firing rockets into Israel, with little impact due to Israel’s air defenses.
The UN condemned Israeli troops for breaking into their positions in south Lebanon, which led to injuries among peacekeepers. UN peacekeepers called the actions “shocking violations.” The Security Council urged for de-escalation, and Macron appealed to Iran for support. The US announced sending more air defenses to Israel. The conflict in Gaza led to numerous casualties, with 15 people killed at a school shelter. The WHO managed to resupply hospitals in northern Gaza. The death tolls and casualties in both Gaza and Lebanon have been significant, surpassing previous conflicts.
