An Israeli strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Thursday killed the head of Hezbollah’s drone unit, Mohammed Srur, born in 1973. The Israeli military confirmed they targeted and eliminated Srur, who was identified as the commander of Hezbollah’s air unit. This was the fourth attack in a week targeting Hezbollah commanders in the densely populated area. Lebanon’s health ministry reported two people killed and 15 wounded in the attack, including a woman in critical condition. Srur was involved in training Yemen’s Houthi rebels and Lebanon’s National News Agency reported “three missiles” targeting a residential apartment in a 10-storey building. The strike was close to where the head of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, Ibrahim Aqil, and other commanders were killed in a strike last Friday, which resulted in 55 deaths, including seven children.
