The United States is set to send another Patriot missile air defense system to Ukraine soon, according to reports citing unnamed officials. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has requested more air defenses amid increased Russian aggression in the Kharkiv region. Zelensky emphasized the need for air defense systems to counter Russia’s aerial superiority. The Patriot system bound for Ukraine is currently deployed in Poland, defending a rotating American force. This would mark at least the second Patriot system sent by the US to Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called on allies to provide more support for Ukraine’s air defense, noting that Germany has already contributed three Patriot systems to Kyiv.
