The Ukrainian military has received new electronic warfare systems called the “Shatro” that can protect soldiers engaged in trench warfare. The devices can obstruct incoming Russian attack drones and shield command posts, trenches, and other military assets. Ukrainian politician Petro Poroshenko showed the first batch of Shatro 50-1M systems donated by his foundation on his official YouTube channel, with a total of 48 systems expected to be deployed in the regions of Kharkiv and Donetsk.
The provision of EW systems is part of a wider effort to strengthen fortifications used by Ukrainian soldiers. In addition to the Shatro systems, Poroshenko also handed over first-person-view drones, cargo manipulators, trucks, and backhoe loaders to assist in building fortifications on the frontline and rear. This program aims to efficiently build defense lines to enhance the military’s capabilities.
