Ukraine has deployed an electronic warfare system that disables unmanned aerial systems through radio interference. The Brave 1 cluster-developed counter-drone system emits “white noise” at 850-940 MHz, interfering with drone radio frequencies, according to Censor.Net.
It can disable a drone from 250 meters (820 feet) if the platform is being operated from a distance of 3,000 meters (9,842 feet), the outlet added. It employs passive detection to evade enemy countermeasures and is reportedly capable of suppressing GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou satellite navigation data transmissions.
More Systems Being Ordered
It kicks off within a second and weighs only 3 kilograms (6.61 pounds), without a battery. It comes with a tripod option for vehicle installation, while a backpack version is being developed. Ukrainian armed forces has recommended the system for codification and registration for further supply following trials in operational environments.
