Ukraine has sent more soldiers to the embattled eastern town of Avdiivka. The Third Separate Assault Brigade confirmed its urgent redeployment to the area, describing the situation as “extremely critical.” Russian forces have been storming the city since last year and have it surrounded on three sides. Ukraine’s top commander admitted that the country was outnumbered on the battlefield. The battle for Avdiivka has drawn comparisons with last year’s fighting for Bakhmut. The enemy continues to actively rotate troops and throw new forces and resources into the city. The general staff of Ukraine’s army said troops continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to surround the town. Russia launched 34 attacks in the area on Wednesday and continued its barrage of aerial attacks overnight, firing 26 missiles, killing at least one person and destroying multiple homes.
