Ukraine announced that its military had shot down a Russian Tu-22M3 long-range bomber used to fire cruise missiles. The Russian plane crashed in the southern Stavropol region on its way back to base, resulting in one crew member’s death. Two crew members were taken to a local medical center, while the search for the fourth pilot is ongoing. Stavropol is a region in Russia’s north Caucasus, east of Crimea, and the crash occurred in the Krasnogvardeysky district, approximately 400 kilometers from the eastern edge of Crimea.
