Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Western allies to consider shooting down Russian missiles over Ukrainian territory to protect cities from aerial attacks. Kuleba emphasized that there are no legal, security, or moral arguments against this measure. He urged partners to intercept missiles from their territory or provide Ukraine with the necessary means to do so themselves.
Kuleba specifically mentioned the need for air defense systems and combat aircraft with appropriate capabilities. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock acknowledged the importance of providing this support and emphasized that delays in assistance to Ukraine could harm Western security. She warned that every hesitation in supporting Ukraine could result in the loss of innocent lives and jeopardize international security.
