Russia has developed an electronic warfare system called Zont, capable of disabling first-person view drones within a 500-meter radius. The anti-drone system weighs 20 kilograms and operates in frequency ranges between 0.4 and 5.8 GHz. Russian military personnel in Ukraine requested the system after experiencing significant losses to FPV drones.
The system has cleared combat trials in Ukraine and has been approved for serial production. It was also tested in the occupied Donetsk region against unarmed drones, successfully preventing all of them from penetrating its protective canopy. The system is designed to protect vehicles on the front lines from drone attacks without the need to choose a specific direction, unlike narrow-beam electronic warfare systems. The dome-type system extinguishes all signals in its range, making it effective in protecting tanks and other armored vehicles during an attack.
