Russian forces captured the village of Zhelannoye Vtoroye in eastern Ukraine, near Pokrovsk, a logistics hub for the Ukrainian army. Five civilians were killed by Russian shelling in Toretsk, Velyka Novosilka, Mala Tokmachka, and in a car hit by a Russian drone in Kharkiv. Authorities in Gorlivka reported civilians wounded by Ukrainian shelling and drone strikes. Russia currently occupies 18% of Ukraine after launching its offensive in February 2022. In 2023, Russian forces held ground, and in 2024, they have been advancing against Ukrainian forces.
