Russia’s Belgorod region, facing difficulties, reportedly had Ukrainian forces attempting to breach the border near the village of Nekhoteyevka. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov stated that the situation was “under control,” with the defense ministry confirming the challenging conditions on the border. Since Ukraine’s surprise incursion into the Kursk region three weeks ago, Russia’s border regions, including Belgorod, have been on high alert. Russia had previously declared a state of emergency in response to Kyiv’s attacks and announced plans to send more troops to defend the region.
