Ukraine has invested in 1.8 million unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for 2024 and 2025 in response to Russia’s attacks, spending 147 billion hryvnias ($3.5 billion) to enhance armed forces’ capabilities.
The first phase allocated 114 billion hryvnias ($2.7 billion) for 1.6 million UAS platforms, with 1.28 million drones already delivered and 366,900 more expected by end of 2024.
UAS kits include FPV drones, kamikaze drones, reconnaissance copters, and other aircraft types to support combat units in tactical and strategic challenges.
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Ukraine’s ability to produce up to four million drones annually, with cooperation from Lithuania and a new military donation from Canada to a multinational drone coalition.
