Rebellion Defense has been chosen to work on Project Overmatch, the Navy’s part in the Pentagon’s CJADC2 strategy. The company will provide custom software and identify areas for automation to improve data-handling and decision-making. The multibillion-dollar CJADC2 concept aims for interlinked forces and databases across land, air, sea, space, and cyber. Ben FitzGerald, Rebellion’s chief executive, expressed the company’s eagerness to assist the Navy in optimizing its software capabilities for CJADC2.
Project Overmatch capabilities were tested by the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group off the coast of California. Then-Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Michael Gilday stated that the networking overhaul was on track and that Project Overmatch’s rollout would first focus on the Indo-Pacific and then expand globally. The Navy has requested $192 million for Project Overmatch in fiscal 2024.
