Deadliest Day of Ground War: Israel Reports 24 Soldiers Killed

Israel has pulled out all troops from southern Gaza, including Khan Yunis, after months of fighting with Hamas militants. A significant force will remain in the rest of Gaza. The withdrawal is tactical and does not indicate the end of the war.

Israeli security expert predicts commandoes will return to fight Hamas after evacuating displaced people from Rafah. Next, operations may intensify against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Israel’s military logic dictates eliminating Hamas before moving north.

Army official stated that the 98th division dismantled Hamas in Khan Yunis and there is no need to remain there. Displaced Palestinians may return home. However, the army will continue operations as needed.

Despite the withdrawal from the south, the Nahal brigade will hold the central Netzarim Corridor. Khan Yunis has been heavily damaged, with ongoing bombardment and international outcry. The war began with a Hamas attack in October, resulting in many casualties.
