Hezbollah fired rockets at an Israeli military base in Lebanon’s east in response to Israeli strikes, killing two members in the eastern Baalbek area. The Israeli army reported dozens of rockets launched from Lebanon with no immediate casualties. In retaliation for a downed drone, Israeli strikes targeted Hezbollah air defense systems in Baalbek. Two Hezbollah fighters were killed in the Baalbek strikes.
Later, an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon killed at least one person, with Hezbollah reporting a third fighter killed. Cross-border hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel have killed at least 281 people on the Lebanese side and 16 on the Israeli side since October. Both sides have experienced significant displacement due to the fighting.
Hezbollah has threatened to stop launching attacks on Israel if Israel stops its Gaza offensive. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant vowed to continue actions against Hezbollah even if a ceasefire is reached in Gaza. In January, a strike attributed to Israel killed Hamas’ deputy leader in Hezbollah’s south Beirut stronghold, marking a significant event during the ongoing conflict.
