**Contracts with Egypt**
French company Safran has secured a significant contract with the Egyptian Navy, which has chosen its VIGY 4 optronic sights and Argonyx inertial navigation systems. These systems will equip 10 offshore patrol vessels, enhancing their capabilities to detect and track threats, particularly in low visibility conditions like darkness or fog. Additionally, the VIGY 4 system can control small and medium-caliber weapons.
**Modernization of German Naval Vessels**
Exail, a French industrial group, has been selected to modernize the German Navy’s Brandenburg-class frigates (F-123). The upgrades will focus on improving navigation capabilities through enhancements to the Netans data distribution units and Marins inertial navigation systems, thereby increasing positioning accuracy and information distribution speed. Exail’s regional sales director, Jens Higgen, expressed satisfaction in partnering with Arche and Saab for this project.
**Multinational Collaboration on Corvette Project**
Naval Group has signed an Initial Consortium Agreement with Spanish and Italian shipbuilders, Navantia and Fincantieri, as well as Naviris, a joint venture between Fincantieri and Naval Group. This collaboration aims to execute the second phase of the multinational multi-role patrol corvette program (MMPC), which is built upon the European Patrol Corvette initiative backed by the European Union. The next phase will finalize the corvette design and integrate advanced technology to enhance operational flexibility.
