Four U.S. soldiers participating in tactical training in Lithuania are currently missing, according to information released by U.S. Army Europe and Africa.
The search operations for the soldiers began Wednesday morning, involving the U.S. Army, Lithuanian Armed Forces, and Lithuanian law enforcement.
All four missing soldiers belong to the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, and were undergoing training at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area, located near Pabrade, which is north of the capital, Vilnius, Lithuania.
The soldiers and one tracked vehicle were first reported missing on Tuesday afternoon, as stated by the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
Lt. Gen. Charles Costanza, the commanding general of V Corps, expressed gratitude for the prompt response from the Lithuanian Armed Forces and first responders, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and partnership between the U.S. and Lithuania, regardless of national affiliations.
