The White House announced that the United States will prioritize deliveries of anti-air missiles to Kyiv, specifically Patriot and NASAMS missiles. This decision will delay deliveries to other countries currently in queue. However, orders for Taiwan and Israel will not be affected. The Pentagon attributed the urgency to Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. Major General Pat Ryder highlighted the need to quickly increase Ukraine’s air defense capabilities to protect critical infrastructure. Since Russia’s invasion in February 2022, the United States has provided over $51 billion in military assistance to Ukraine.
