Estonia has delivered 80 million euros ($88 million) of military equipment to Ukraine as part of its latest aid package. The shipment comes after the country’s pledge to send “long-term” military aid to Kyiv in December. The donation includes Javelin anti-tank missiles, machine guns, assorted vehicles, vessels, and diving equipment. Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said the aid is in response to Russia’s invasion, underlining the country’s assistance to the NATO partner country. Exact quantities, arrival times, and locations of the aid were not disclosed for security reasons.
Estonia has provided Ukraine nearly 500 million euros ($550 million) in military aid in total, or about 1.4 percent of its gross domestic product. Last year, Tallinn announced various tranches of defense support, including infantry firearms and a Finland-approved re-exportation of D-30 towed howitzers. Other donations include humanitarian aid, including field hospitals, medical equipment, personal protective equipment, and dry food packages.
