Ahead of the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow near London next week, Embraer hints at additional orders for its C-390 Millenium tactical airlifter. The company’s president and CEO, Francisco Gomes, sees “a good sales momentum” and is excited about future opportunities. The Portuguese Air Force recently received the second of five C-390s, with strong partnerships in NATO countries.
Embraer has 40 commitments for the C-390, with deliveries expected to Hungary, Brazil, and other countries. India, Saudi Arabia, and the United States are strategic markets for the aircraft. In India, Embraer is working with Mahindra Aerospace to replace Soviet-era transports under the Medium Transport Aircraft program. Saudi Arabia and the U.S. are also potential markets for the C-390.
With a potential market for 500 aircraft over the next 20 years, including replacements for ageing C-130s and Russian transport aircraft, Embraer is optimistic about the future of the C-390. The company expects to announce more news and opportunities at the upcoming Farnborough Airshow.
