The Armed Forces of Ukraine has received 18 locally-built Bohdana self-propelled howitzers, financed by Denmark. The first agreement concluded in July resulted in the production of 18 Bohdana artillery systems. Copenhagen allocated 200 million Danish kroner ($28.5 million) for the initiative in a military aid package. The Ukrainian defense industry produces more than the state can purchase, requiring external financing. The Bohdana prototype entered service in May 2022 and full-rate production began in January 2023. The wheeled platform operates with NATO-standard shells, has a maximum range of 42 kilometers, and weighs around 28 tons.
