Australia’s military is seeking lighter vehicles for coastal operations following the Strategic Defence Review. Polaris has secured a A$22 million contract to deliver undisclosed quantities of DAGOR light vehicles to Australian Army special forces within two years. Polaris also showcased an MRZR-A vehicle at Land Forces 2024 in Melbourne.
Brigadier Doug Pashley of the Australian Army’s 1st Brigade in Darwin discussed the transition to a littoral brigade and the experimentation with mobility options including Supacat HMT Extenda vehicles and Polaris MRZR. Bale Defence debuted the RTV6 rough terrain vehicle and has a history of supplying vehicles to the Australian Army. Supacat presented its Medium Utility Vehicle based on a Toyota Hilux platform at Land Forces 2024.
