The Argentine government has completed the purchase of 24 F-16 fighter jets from Denmark, worth $320 million, including reconnaissance pods and training armaments such as AIM-9X and AIM-120 missiles. The deal was finalized during Defense Minister Luis Petri’s visit to Denmark, with the approval of the U.S. government.
Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen described the sale as part of a restructuring of Denmark’s Air Force, which is replacing its fighters with F-35s and donating some equipment to Ukraine to support their defense against a Russian invasion.
This acquisition marks a significant step for Argentina, with President Javier Milei leading the effort to modernize the country’s defense forces. This purchase strengthens ties between Argentina, Denmark, and the United States in promoting global security and freedom.
